Rome was not built in a day. It had perhaps taken hundreds of years, to transform from a gathering of a few hamlets to a vast empire. So anything big and great requires many years of hard work.

A stock in an uptrend usually rises a little in the beginning. As the underlying trend strengthens and pushes the stock further upwards, profits get multiplied. Usually, uptrends in their last phase generate huge profits. Holding the stock till that point requires perseverance.
